fictivian: a fictive who is attracted to other fictives

using colors from and inspired by the plural- and fictive flags! (sorry that the fictive link leads to an edit rather than a full flag, it’s the only place i could find it even though i Know it exists)

Istos-

An orientation/modifier for when, due to neurodiversity, a person feels platonic attraction felt to an intensity that mainstream society associates with romance, which causes severe confusion. The person may struggle to determine if their attraction is platonic, or if it’s actually romantic. They may feel like their attraction straddles the lines between romantic, queerplatonic, and alterous.

Can be used as a prefix for whichever attraction the person thinks fits best, e.g. istosplatonic, or as a standalone, e.g. “I am istos / I feel istos attraction”.

Istos comes from the Greek ἀγνώριστος (a)gnw/ristos), meaning ‘unascertained’ or ‘unknown’.

Similar to idore. See also quoi-, nebularomantic, idem-.

I had been feeling this for a while but couldn’t find a term for it so I coined it!

Altsexual/romantic/platonic/alterous/aesthetic

When your orientation fluctuates because of your Alters orientations: ie when your polysexual with a preference for feminine people but a lot of your Alters like men and are influencing you to like men more. For DID/OSDD/DDNOS Systems.

And I made flags!!!

I am just so proud of myself for these and wanted to share them :)

~ Michael

This was inspired by Within temptation’s music as many of the songs I relate to have themes that pull on the core of this identity.

Verleidin- an intense need for a connection that takes over your being and is hard to discribe. It’s needed but you feel that something such as the way you interact with society or how your fears influence you keeps it away form you. It’s soft but also forceful and doesn’t feel sappy or like a poor victim. It’s a neuro orientation. (for me they invoke dpd and avpd but I don’t want to close it off to other nd people who relate)

It can overlap with aro-spec identities but isn’t inherently aro-spec.

Name is taken from Dutch verleid for tempt and in from within.

new term: centreian

fluffgender

note: this is NOT an inherently queer/lgbt+/etc. label, it has more to do with neurodivergence and how it affects sexuality.

this was coined by @scigender and myself, z made the flag!

centreian: used as a sexuality modifier. it is when you experience normal (as in, normal according to your existing sexuality) attraction when single but due to neurodivergence, your sexuality is noticeably changed when you are in a relationship with someone, and revolves around them for the period of the relationship if not longer. this term is useful because it may prevent the individual from feeling truly connected to their “actual” sexuality, even if they are still technically mspec/gay/straight/ace/etc.

explanation & flag under the cut!

Asocial-

Asocial- when you have no desire to be in real life relationships due to anxiety (usually social) or trust issues. The person can have friendships with people over the internet.

(Just to clarify, Asocial- in this context is just a prefix for asocialsexual/asocialromantic/etc, not the definition of the actual term “Asocial”)

Dissociate- (orientation)

Dissociate- (as in dissociatesexual / dissociateromantic etc): Someone who dissociates regularly while engaging in sexual/romantic/etc. activity, often leaving the individual confused as to what their orientation is.

Note: While I’m not going to tell anyone not to use labels, regular dissociation while engaging in sexual/romantic/etc acts, is not healthy and you should seek help if possible. Here’s a post explaining more about it (even if the wording is a bit iffy) [Link]

Note: This user is known for adding or creating flags for some pretty iffy terms, but I don’t believe they are trolling; rather, it seems more like they’re trying to add flags to make everyone happy, whether or not the identity is oppressed or not. I’m always open to helping create alternatives if you’re not comfortable using something made be them!

Color meanings: Based on the gendervague flags. The big gray space is supposed to represent the “vagueness”. And there’s also an option to put a different oreintation flag in the gray space as a combo.

Xum-

Xum- Never being satisfied with your orientation due to constant self-doubt or identity issues, causing one to compulsively search and seek out something that fits as perfect as possible–to find “the orientation” or “the one truth”–though one may never be found due to one’s neurotype, because words will never be able to describe it, and/or its own properties paradox itself. This frequent anxiety and doubt even causes this orientation to feel imperfect to the individual.

A neurodivergent only orientation. Impla- or Inex- are open for everyone though!
