Aromantic spectrum flag!

As requested (and as I’ve wanted to do) I made an aromantic flag remake to pair the asexual flag.

Stripe meaning under the cut!

Ace and Aro flags!

With the help of some friends, I’ve made some tweaks to the aro and ace flags! I hope you enjoy them!

Kingdom/Crest Pride flags!

So I saw a tumblr post on twitter, mentioning how the flags were always stripes, which they found boring (and upon thinking about it, I also realized it’s not very color-blind friendly) so I made some prideflags with crests for fun!

The symbolism shouldn’t be taken too seriouysly, nor was it my intent to create something to replace the current flags. This was just a design challenge!!
I also noticed that the black looks kind of purple-y/grayish on some of my designs (such as the ace flag). Sorry for that!!

Once again, these were designs for fun! In no way am I trying to boil people down to a stereotype!!

Also note that these were made for twitter originally. They allow only 4 pictures at once, hence why I only made 7 so far (the original post included the tumblr post). I’m not trying to be exclusive and might make more ;;;

Some of them are also available on my redbubble, if someone would be interested:

aro-soulmate-project:

An important tenet of aro activism is–or should be–dismantling the idea that any type of relationship or attraction (romantic, platonic, queerplatonic, sexual, etc.) is inherently deeper, more meaningful, or more valuable than any other. The axis on which someone’s feelings or interpersonal relationships operate should not determine their value. All of these things are self-definable, and the depth and meaningfulness of anyone’s individual experiences ought to be determined by that individual, not by classifications constructed by others.

Carnival of Aros Call for Submissions (March 2020): Aromanticism and Gender

Happy March! I’m hosting Carnival of Aros this month and the theme is “Aromanticism and Gender”.  I picked this theme because I feel like my gender is influenced by being aro and I know others feel the same, so I figured it would be interesting to explore experiences with the intersection of aromanticism with gender.

What Is Carnival of Aros:

The Carnival of Aros is a monthly blogging carnival centered on aromantic and aro-spec identities and experiences.  At the start of the month, the host announces a topic for people to respond to throughout the month and then at the end of the month the host creates a post with links to all the submissions.  (More information about this event can be found here).

Theme:

This month’s theme is Aromanticism and Gender.  Submissions can be in any medium (prose, poetry, visual art, etc.), be as creative as you want!  Submissions can have anything to do with the theme, they don’t have to respond directly to the prompts, the prompts are there to serve as inspiration.

Prompts:

  • How do you experience gender?
  • Does your aromanticism affect your gender, or vice versa?
  • Do you find Arogender to be a useful label? Why or why not?
  • How does your experience of gender intersect with romance and/or amatonormativity?
  • How is your gender expression affected by being aro?
  • Which parts of your identity did you discover first, and did learning one help you find others?

How to submit: You can post to any platform, but please send me a link to it.  You can send a link via an ask, you can tag me in a post on tumblr, or you can reply to this post with a link.  If you don’t have somewhere to post it or would like to remain anonymous, you can submit it to my blog and I will post it for you.

I am accepting submissions until April 2nd (12:01am, EST), though I’ll add any I’ve received when I do the roundup.

Edit: apparently tumblr doesn’t allow links to be sent via asks, so instead you can send a submission with a link to your post

Happy Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week, here’s a redesign of the Aroflux flag! I wanted to keep the meanings of the original flag but fix up the colours so the flag isn’t as eyestrainy as it currently is. Feel free to use, no credit is required! Please share this around, even if you aren’t Aroflux so more people can see it!

Don’t interact with this post if you’re an aspec exclusionist please and thank you
