Jeff Koons: Plates

“Porcelain was the emperor’s material,” Jeff Koons once said. “But today it has been democratized and everybody can enjoy porcelain.” Using the porcelain plate as an empty canvas, Koons has collaborated with the renowned French tableware crafter Bernardaud to reproduce some of his most iconic designs, including his balloon dogs, tulips, and elephants—bringing his art out of galleries and museums and into the home as an everyday object.
