About Google-managed ads

When you sign up for Google News, your edition automatically includes Google-sold ads. You can choose to remove or keep these ads.

How it works

Google no longer requires that you set aside a minimum of 30% of your inventory for Google-sold ads. You can allocate as much ad inventory as you like, if any.

How to set up Google-managed ads

  1. Open the Publisher Center.

  2. Select your publication.

  3. Click Menu Menuand thenAds.

  4. Navigate to the “Google-Managed Ads” section.

  5. Under the “% of Google-managed ads” section, enter the percentage of ads you want your edition to be served by Google.

Tip: Increase the percentage to maximize the number of Google-managed ads displayed in your content. For example, changing the percentage to 100 means none of your ads will be served from your own inventory.

  1. In the top right corner, click Save.

You don't have to take further action if you don’t plan to serve ads from your own inventory.

  4. Navigate to the “Google-Managed Ads” section.
