‘One Day at a Time’ Canceled (Again) After 1 Season on Pop TV
One Day at a Time” is one and done on Pop TV. The ViacomCBS cable network does plan on ordering any additional episodes of the comedy after just one season, an individual familiar with the network’s plans told TheWrap.

Pop TV picked up the reboot of Normal Lear’s classic sitcom after it was initially canceled by Netflix after three seasons. Pop TV premiered its one and only season in March, which had to be cut short due to the pandemic shutting down production this spring (though they did scrape together a special animated episode). CBS aired the fourth season of the show this fall in primetime as a schedule filler while it waited for its normal primetime lineup to get the cameras rolling again.

A separate individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap that the show’s producers Sony TV are trying to find another new home for “One Day at a Time.

HBO Max: The Under-the-Radar TV Shows You Should Add to Your Queue
In the months since HBO Max launched, a majority of the attention given to the platform has centered on what’s available. That has often meant sifting through the vast HBO Max library, mainly the relative strength of its haul of animation, classic film, and comics-centered offerings.

Amidst all of the questions about what films might make the jump from theatrical to streaming, the HBO Max Originals brand has included a handful of TV series as well. Those shows getting the full bus stop ad/billboard push have been a mixed bag at best, ranging from wildly ambitious heady sci-fi gambits to aggressively safe star-driven romantic dramedies.

But much like its competitors’, HBO Max’s definition of what constitutes an “Original” is flexible, combining those aforementioned streaming tentpoles with a collection of overseas imports and co-productions. They may not have broken through to the general pop culture consciousness (or made

“I grew up loving Selena so much,” she says during this week’s episode of the Variety and iHeart podcast “The Big Ticket.” “She has crossed so many generations, and new generations are going to fall in love with her. I know my daughter is going to be no different.
