Storyline

Frank (Bruce Willis) is retired, bored, and lonely living off of his government pension in a nondescript suburb in an equally nondescript house. The only joy in Frank's life is his calls to the government pension processing center when he gets to talk to his case worker, Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker). Sarah is as bored and lonely as Frank and marks her conversations with the unknown Frank and her spy novels as the only things fun in her life. When something in Frank's past forces him back into his old line of work and puts an unwitting Sarah in the middle of the intrigue, Frank and Sarah begin a journey into his past and the people with whom he used to work. Like Frank they are all "R.E.D." - Retired Extremely Dangerous. Written by Malcolm is Crazy

Goofs

When the bullet hits the RPG head on, the rocket explodes backwards, towards the shooter. As a High Explosive Anti-Tank (HEAT) rocket, it is designed to blast forward. In the slow motion we see the bullet break apart and severely distort the shape of the rocket's front cone section. However the front cone section of this type of HEAT round is empty, and only provides an offset for the piezoelectric crystal housed at the front of the cone. Crushing the tip of the cone sends an electric charge through the empty cone to initiate the explosive charge in the rocket. Altering the shape of the cone itself would have no effect on the direction of the blast. See more »

User Reviews

One of my favorites!
6 July 2012 | by fishwandaSee all my reviews

I'm a huge movie buff! And I love this movie! Just great entertainment.

The right action mixed with the right comedy. The casting in Red was PERFECT! I find it hard to believe there are people out there that wouldn't like this movie!

You don't have to be a fan of either of the actors in Red to enjoy this movie. The graphics are great and it's not one of those movies where you feel you can predict the ending.

You don't worry about predicting anything. Just pure entertainment. I have watched Red many times and will watch again!

Bruce Willis is fantastic!
