“Given the nature of this basin and the tremendous thickness, this is pretty much a no-brainer… it will be productive and I’m expecting high-quality oil.”

ReconAfrica is opening a new, deep sedimentary basin—the Kavango Basin—in the Kalahari Desert of NE Namibia and NW Botswana.

ReconAfrica has licensed approximately 8.75 million contiguous acres over the entire deep Kavango Basin, areally larger that the Eagle Ford in Texas. We believe that the Kavango Basin is another world class Permian basin. It is estimated that the oil generated in the basin could be billions of barrels—see the Dan Jarvie report. The Company’s initial goal is to establish the presence of an active petroleum system with its fully funded 3-well drilling program starting in December 2020.
