fthgurdy asked:

Lou Lou brings up an important thing: the ability to kill whenever one wants and the choice to do so. Even with all the rules it seems Death Heads are trusted to make the final choice of whether a person can be legally killed, that makes death a very different choice for alrick than for someone who would have no legal right to kill if they decided a person deserved to die. it isnt surprising loulou wonders if being a death head made alrick comfortable with dispensing violent deaths as punishment, especially when it is not the only option.

niuniente answered:

Yes! People love Alrick (as much I as do, too) but seem to be uwu babying him a bit :’D It’s OK, Alrick is an uwu bean but he’s also a killer and can choose - legally - to kill people, if only Rena approves the deal. All Death-Heads can kill anyone they want as a deal only if the faction boss approves (and I think in big assaults the HQ approves).

So, in this case, Alrick decided it was the best to kill the stalking ex, asked Rena’s permission, got it, actively hunted the guy for a week, captured him, killed him (probably tortured, too) and left him to hang naked upside down on a public spot as a warning sign.

A clean, perfectly executed Death-Head job. Actively chosen by every single step he took.

But, he could have chosen other approach, too, as we have seen.

He killed the CEO Unicorn because it was Rena’s job to deal with a horrible client who had attacked one of her girls and disrespected the deal - and she took Alrick with her, because he was the colleague who has been with Cat trying to solve this without Rena intervening.

Alrick was very different when he was not-Death-Head. Lou-Lou knows that Alrick, not the modern day Alrick. I would be horrified too, if I asked my long-time friend to deal with a difficult person in my life and she/he went and punched the sucker into a face instead of talking with them! Because that’s not how I know them to be, they don’t beat people!

I like to talk with all of you (I really, really do!) and at the same time I worry that I wasn’t clear enough with the story telling… I guess maybe I should have done better job?

No I think it was definitely clear in the story. You're writing a nuanced and complicated narrative with imperfect characters and a messed up social system that allows for legal atrocities, while also providing loopholes for people who genuinely need the help (like in ch 1). It's a big oof, but far from surprising that Alrick ended up crossing a line and a childhood friend was horrified by his actions. She even outright stated that where most people saw a death head, she was still seeing her childhood friend who played pranks on her. Seeing him as JUST a death-head is no good, but not acknowledging that part of him at all is a setup to get burned. You're doing amazing sweetie, some readers will always need it spoonfed but I for one think this is AMAZING so far.

Thank you! Your message was so kind. This is what I meant with the comic, or at least hoped to.

Signal let’s you securely text and make phone calls.

Onion Browser allows you to surf the web without leaving a trail.

Duck Duck Go isn’t super secure but it won’t record your searches like Google.

ProtonMail is a email client that lets you email other secure email accounts.

Periscope allows you to stream live video.

Semaphor is there so you can securely make group chat rooms.

American privacy laws allow you to use these all. So that’s pretty cool.

Because we’re currently living in the prologue of a cyberpunk dystopian novel, imma reblog this.

Shyam the GMO human and Talita the centaur alien posed as one of my favorite illustrations, this 1924 cover for La Vie Parisienne by Georges Léonnec.

It’s difficult to find a clear image of the artwork online that isn’t either cropped or covered in watermarks by the people selling it as art prints. Interestingly, the cropped version circulating social media has a bouquet flying out of the centaur’s hands, which appears to have been pasted in by a tumblr user in 2012. I kind of love it, though. It’s a fun addition.
