• In general I don’t like calling the sides besides Patton cute, especially Virgil, because cute can kind of be demeaning in some ways? But this episode…

• Nico’s a really cool character! I also just love the name Nico for nostalgia reasons

• At the end when Roman popped up to make a joke about Thomas being old, and Thomas yelled “Get out!” it sounded exactly how Virgil told Janus to get out in the end card of embarrassing phases
• I really like the message of this asides. I might do an analyzation of it later when I’m more calmed down, but I already just know that the message is good
• I think they handled skirting around PoF pretty well? Roman was a side that a lot of people didn’t think were going to be in this asides because of PoF. One thing to keep in mind is that this episode has no set place in the timeline, so of course PoF wouldn’t be mentioned. It did a good job of distracting from the elephant in the room.
• I think having an episode focused solely on Roman and Virgil was a REALLY good choice. We haven’t had an episode based off their dynamic since early early season one, with The Dark Side of Disney. Obviously there’s been development in their dynamic since that, but we’ve always had it intertwined with the other sides. Now we get to see how they act just them and Thomas with their post AA dynamic. I think that’s really important, because I think they’re going to kind of form a team in the next main series episode to go against Janus. Though Virgil did say a positive thing about Janus… I think he won’t be quite okay with Janus’s acceptance. I have reasons for this which I may go into detail about in another post. With Roman’s beef with Janus, there’s a strong possibility of them teaming up. For this, we needed a baseline of what their normal relationship is like.
• As a Remus stan though, I am sad. Though I know that from a story standpoint it would have made no sense to have him there, I do miss him
• I think we have a better understanding of what the asides really are now. It was pretty hard to tell with just one episode, but now we really know how asides are different from the main series
• I wonder if it’s going to be alternating main series and asides?
• I think the wait was worth it for this one, especially because of how much work the animatic must have taken. But I do hope it’s less than five months until the next episode. My current guess is January or February if they don’t do any complicated gimmicks like with PoF
• I do have a few more thoughts, but this is getting too long

Sanderstober day 9: What if the personification of the Moon came to Earth to experience the daytime? What if the personification of the Sun came to Earth to experience the nighttime?

I went with moon during daytime, just cause I wanted to. I like how it turned out!

Sanderstober day 7: Avatar: The Last Airbender experienced a renaissance this year! So, in tribute to that, take any character from any other piece of media (animation, TV, movie, etc.) and depict THEM if they also were an uber fan of ATLA this year!

Here’s what I made! Pretty proud of it. I skipped the last two days so I could take time for myself, and I feel better. For the second pic I just got too lazy to color it, I might post a colored version at some point.
