    This article captures just how vital phones are to people in detention. Plans to take them away are cruel, unnecessary and unfair. ‘So when we have phones, we kind of feel safe ... We have zero rights in here, except when we have a phone, we have a little bit of rights.”

    I started a group chat with some refugees in detention to find out why they're so freaked out about the government taking their phones away (and it's my last ever BuzzFeed post!)

    It hurts me deeply to see my old paper the Wimmera Mail-Times stop printing regardless of whether it resumes again in June. I wish the Horsham Times well. All regional areas deserve a strong local media.

    Not just a reporting error also a forecasting error - remember the $130 billion estimate was released before a single form was completed.

    Breaking: Big revision on JobKeeper numbers. Treasury & ATO say a reporting error by around 1,000 businesses, means they can now revise DOWN the number of recipients from 6.5m to 3.5m. JobKeeper now estimated to cost taxpayer $70b instead of $130b.

    Since there is money unaccounted for how about offering some money for the thousands of casual workers and sole traders who lost business for this winter? Doesn't have to be the full whack but even some support would help a lot of people.

    BREAKING: The Federal Treasury has admitted a "significant error" has greatly inflated the number of people using JobKeeper and its cost. The $130 billion program is likely to cost $70 billion and cover 3.5 million workers, rather than more than 6 million.

    To start saying this will hit all kinds of small businesses is misleading and despicable. There are too many jobs wrongly made casual when they are clearly FT. If bosses need a casual for that role, have the option for the role to become full-time later.

    There is some disgusting rhetoric being thrown around after that court ruling on wrongly classified casual workers. If employers, especially big companies, correctly filled full time roles with full time employees (not long-term casuals) then this wouldn't be an issue 1/2
