The Oxford Text Archive

You are on the old OTA website - unless you specifically wanted to see something here, you should probably be on the new site at https://ota.bodleian.ox.ac.uk.

The Oxford Text Archive develops, collects, catalogues and preserves electronic literary and linguistic resources for use in Higher Education, in research, teaching and learning. The OTA also gives advice on the creation and use of these resources, and is involved in the development of standards and infrastructure for electronic language resources. Follow the latest updates and news on Twitter.

The Oxford Text Archive now has a new look. All of the existing items in the repository have been moved to a new platform, where users are able to search the collections and download the resources via a new interface. The new software platform is CLARIN DSpace, built with the help of the CLARIN community, with a particular debt to the LINDAT team at Charles University, Prague. From October 2019, all visitors to the OTA website will be redirected to the new site at https://ota.bodleian.ox.ac.uk.

If you want to cite an item in the OTA and to be sure that that will resolve to the correct URL while we transition to the new platform, and afterwards, use the PURL, e.g. http://purl.ox.ac.uk/ota/5729, or the handles which you will see on the new site.

Users of resources downloaded from the University of Oxford Text Archive must abide by the terms of the OTA User Agreement or other licence associated with a specific resource.
