- Victoria recorded another 'doughnut' day of zero COVID-19 cases today after one initial positive case was cleared as a false positive. Meanwhile Melbourne is enjoying its first weekend of relaxed restrictions for retail, hospitality and social gatherings. Derby Day went ahead with no spectators today.
NSW reported one new case of locally transmitted COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday. NSW Health said on Saturday the new case – a student from Cabramatta High School in south-west Sydney – attended the Flip Out Prestons Indoor Trampoline Park in Prestons at the same time as a known case.
- On the eve of the Queensland election, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced her state would drop the border to regional NSW, but maintain its controversial restrictions for the Greater Sydney area.
