    They weren't the only ones. also knew about climate change and refused to warn the public about the damage that their own researchers predicted while continuing to profit off fueling the climate emergency.

    I still think there were less tangible, or less measurable, social and cultural, maybe even psychological factors. We were reaching peak affluence but somehow also just vaguely starting to recognize limits. Interesting that some of the early stuff is from the late 60s.

    We know from and similar docs from 1970’s, that this nation-scale industry already baked in -lockdown to their business plans. They projected a range of political responses > harm, & had paths > profitability even w/ immediate lockdown back then.
