Refugees: more blood on Labor’s hands

Labor is as brutal and bloodthirsty as the Liberals on refugees. It is a conscious strategy. The more dead the better the chance, Labor reasons, of stopping the boats without saying so. This ignores, deliberately, the real reasons the relatively small number of refugees come to Australia. They are fleeing war, rape, murder, genocide. Until those atrocities, often caused by Western invasions, end, the boats will keep coming.
Let’s welcome them, not condemn them to death at sea.

So let us defend Lenin and October 1917, but also let us face the realities of our current difficult situation, without bluff or triumphalism. As Cliff used to put it, “If you sit on Marx’s shoulders you see far, but if you sit on Marx’s shoulders and close your eyes, you don’t see very far at all.”
