The length of time between seasons of Adult Swim’s “Rick and Morty” has been something of a running joke among fans. It was, for example, nearly two and a half years between Season 3 and Season 4, which finished its run in May this year. As we wait for a whole lot more to come from Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, whose beloved series has many episodes remaining as part of a package deal with Cartoon Network, they’re also here to reassure fans that it’s coming soon.

As reported by Syfy Wire out of a PaleyFest virtual conversation, Harmon said that despite Covid’s impact on the industry and digital workflow Season 5 is fully on schedule and has actually benefited from production setbacks.

Josh O’Connor, who plays Prince Charles in season 4 of Netflix’s “The Crown,” and BAFTA winner Jessie Buckley are set to star as Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers in “Romeo & Juliet,” a made-for-television production by the U.K.’s National Theatre.

“Romeo & Juliet” was originally scheduled to play this summer to theater audiences, but was called off due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now re-conceived for the screen, this new 90-minute version will be shot over three weeks in the National Theatre’s Lyttelton theater, which will be temporarily transformed into a studio.

Rehearsals will begin in November and filming in December.

Fresh off the stunning finale of “Lovecraft Country,” HBO’s newest occupant of the Sunday night time slot fared just as well in the ratings.

Sunday saw the premiere of Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant thriller “The Undoing,” which managed to match the “Lovecraft Country” curtain-raiser with 1.4 million total viewers across all platforms. That figure puts it in the middle of the pack as far as HBO premieres over the last few months go. At the top of the recent new show pile is “Perry Mason” with 1.7 million all platform viewers, followed by “Watchmen” with 1.5 million viewers, then “The Undoing” and “Lovecraft” at 1.4 million,

One of Stargirl‘s main Season 2 foes should look familiar to dedicated Arrowverse fans.

Freeform‘s Instagram account will house the network’s new two-episode limited series, “The Clock Is Ticking” on Oct. 27 and Nov. 3. The digital series, part of the network’s voting initiative, stars Yara Shahidi as she breaks down the importance of voting and tips for packing snacks if voting on election day. The first episode is titled “Why We Vote” and the second, taking place on election day, is “Last Call for Democracy.

Wayne Kramer of the legendary 1960s band the MC5 has filed suit in a California court against a political action committee behind the No. on Prop 23 campaign, contending that a commercial widely broadcast in the weeks running up to the election used vintage footage and appropriated his likeness without permission.

The ad spot, now taken out of circulation, opened with three seconds of unidentified footage of the MC5 performing at the Festival of Life in Chicago during the Democratic convention of 1968 (a setting coincidentally getting renewed attention due to the new film “The Trial of the Chicago 7”).

Thomas Haden Church is looking to make Texas his TV home: The Divorce vet will star in and executive-produce The Texanist, a multi-camera comedy in development at Fox, TVLine has learned.

Inspired by the long-running Texas Monthly column, the potential series follows an opinionated Austin-area radio show host named Dave (played by Church). He “calls ’em like he sees ’em, dispensing advice to Texas natives and newcomers, alike, on what he knows to be the true Texas Way of life,” per the official synopsis. “But the Texas Way is changing, and now Dave’s job is becoming much more complicated.

The CW has released two first-look images for the “Batwoman” suit redesign based around actress Javicia Leslie’s character, Ryan Wilder.

The outfit will be featured starting in Season 2, episode 3, and is the first original design for the new Batwoman, as Leslie takes over the mantle from Ruby Rose, who led the show during its first season. Leslie is the first Black woman to portray a live-action version of the superhero on TV or film.

“I love the fact that Ryan is becoming her own Batwoman — it’s her style, her swag, and her moment,” Leslie said in a statement.

A new Batwoman deserves her own Batsuit, and as well teased over the summer, she is getting one.

The CW on Monday released two first looks at the redesigned Batwoman suit that will be donned by incoming hero Ryan Wilder, played by God Friended Me‘s Javicia Leslie. Ryan upon assuming the vigilante’s mantel will at first slip into Mia predecessor Kate Kane‘s Batsuit, but by Season 2’s third episode, the first Black Batwoman ever will step out in a new Batsuit, “sending a message to Gotham that a new hero has arrived.”

HBO’s new series “The Undoing” marks the first time Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant have worked together, but becoming the married couple at the center of the series didn’t take too much effort.

“I remember the read-through when we first came to New York,” Kidman tells Variety. “We read all of it in one sitting, didn’t we, which was a great way of doing it … because we just had to jump in and it was really fun and then I remember going to get a cup of tea with [Grant] and asking me lots of really personal questions.

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” is adding new housewife Crystal Kung Minkoff for Season 11, Variety has confirmed.

Kung Minkoff marks the first-ever Asian American cast member to join the franchise. Her addition to the show comes as Bravo has been increasing efforts to diversify its casts across its programming.

Kung Minkoff will join Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Lisa Rinna, Garcelle Beauvais and Dorit Kemsley in Season 11, which will no longer feature former cast members Teddi Mellencamp and Denise Richards, who departed after the most recent season.

Kung Minkoff is an entrepreneur who founded Real Coco, a company specializing in coconut products.

Donald Trump’s contentious interview with veteran “60 Minutes” host Lesley Stahl, as well as Joe Biden’s less eventful sit-down, scored the show its largest audience since 2018.

The dual Biden and Trump interviews, the latter of which the President cut short, drew a total of 16.8 million total viewers on CBS and scored a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49, per Nielsen time adjusted fast national numbers. That represents the most viewers to tune in since the infamous Stormy Daniels interview from March two years ago. During the Trump interview, Stahl grilled the President on his coronavirus response.

The strong “60 Minutes

Netflix has debuted the first trailer for its upcoming biographical drama “Selena: The Series,” about the beloved Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla, set to release Dec. 4.

Christian Serratos (“The Walking Dead”) will play the late artist, while Madison Taylor Baez will play a young Selena. Produced by Campanario Entertainment and created by Moisés Zamora, the series features Seidy Lopez as her mother, Marcella Samora; Ricardo Chavira as her father, Abraham Quintanilla; Gabriel Chavarria as her brother, A.B. Quintanilla; and Noemi Gonzalez as her sister, Suzette Quintanilla.

The series chronicles the renowned Mexican American singer’s childhood and rapid rise to fame amid personal sacrifices and challenges.

Oscar Isaac of the third Star Wars trilogy is in talks to suit up as Moon Knight for Disney+‘s upcoming Marvel hero series, our sister site Variety reports.

“In talks” may be the operative words, though. As recently as a few days ago, both Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer) and Nick Kroll (The League) were rumored to be in contention for the plum gig. And Tatiana Maslany recently refuted similar, seemingly solid reports that she had landed the lead in Disney+’s She-Hulk series.

Thanksgiving is still about a month away, but at the Lifetime cable network, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

The A+E Networks-backed outlet on Friday launched its annual “It’s A Wonderful Lifetime” holiday-movie extravaganza, which puts 1200 hours of content appropriate to the season on its schedule across ten weeks. But good cheer (and soapy stories of the sort for which Lifetime is known) aren’t going to be enough.
