Restaurant vouchers to stimulate economy? But not public service wages? The avg country town has police, nurses, teachers, ambos, firemen/women. Hundreds of workers in each town who could have stimulated the economy to ‘drive jobs’. If you devalue employees they feel devalued.

Occasionally when I conduct a research interview I might be shouted a coffee. Today I received flowers as a thank you for the research I was doing. Lovely to interview the first Women's Officer and feel value for research esp. in pandemic times

This is lunacy. Under the current misguided approach, it will be almost four years until pre-crisis employment levels return. Public and private wages will remain stagnant over the next four years.

The NSW Treasurer’s stubborn insistence on suppressing the wages of nurses, paramedics, teachers, cleaners, contact tracers and other public sector workers will weaken economic demand and slow the economic recovery.

I can report parents, teachers and community members are outraged. Compelling!   There is zero support for the government’s appalling decision to close public schools in Murwillumbah.   Murwillumbah folks deserve better.   We have your back. 💪🏾👊🏾

NSW deserves greater investment in health, education and public services and this starts with respecting the workers who have kept them running through this pandemic and beyond. talks about how teachers are valued at a lot more than 1.5%!

TAFE teachers have not received a pay rise for 2 years. We had a negotiated agreement and then the Berejiklian govt walked away from it ⁦⁩ ⁦

“A deal is a deal”, calls for the NSW government to honor their agreement. TAFE Teachers and Related Employees are the only classification of worker in TAFE NSW who have not received a pay rise in either 2019 or 2020.

TAFE supporters rally outside the Parramatta office of Dr Geoff Lee, Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education. TAFE teachers are holding this rally out of absolute frustration with the NSW government’s refusal to finalise the TAFE NSW Teacher Enterprise Agreement.
