    I want to be clear: If POTUS is NOT that sick, then starting dexamethasone might actually HARM him, as noted here: If he IS that sick, then the use of dexamethasone means they are minimizing how ill he is. NB 23/

    Indeed, there is a hint in the RCT that patients who did *not* require ventilators did *worse* on dex, supporting this concern.   For patients with illness not primarily from an immune over-reaction, giving dex might harm them, *increasing* risk of death by 22% (but p=0.14). 16/

    Strange argument to make when millions of Americans are working remotely

    Schumer on Barrett: The idea of having virtual hearings where no one is with the witness for the highest court in the land for a life appointment that would have such effect on people's lives makes no sense. A virtual hearing is virtually no hearing at all.

    There's a lot of truth to this (and it's a reason to be wary of court packing).

    Nearly all of SCOTUS’s most reviled cases—including Dred Scott (slavery), Plessy (separate-but-equal), and Buck v Bell (eugenics)—involved acceding to democratically enacted policies. I can think of no higher compliment to pay a judge than to characterize her as “antidemocratic.”

    One of the 1960 debates had the candidates in different cities. If that technology worked in 1960, it can work now

    Not enough. Put a barrier between candidates. Or, better, have them in different rooms. Why take risks? To have done so at the last debate was stupid and reckless, by both sides. Enough foolishness with America's future.
