Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) take center stage in “The Crown” Season 4 trailer, which also offers first footage of Gillian Anderson in the role of Margaret Thatcher.

“Here is the stuff of which fairy tales are made — a prince and princess on their wedding day. But fairy tales usually end at this point, with the simple phrase, ‘They lived happily ever after,'” the trailer’s narration says. “As husband and wife live out their vows, loving and cherishing one another — sharing life’s splendors and miseries, achievements and setbacks — they will be transformed in the process.

MTV International is rebooting iconic format “MTV Cribs,” with guests including Caitlyn Jenner, Nickelodeon personality and singer JoJo Siwa, former “Glee” star Kevin McHale and British singer Stefflon Don.

The global launch follows something of a warm-up for “Cribs” in the last year. The show received a U.K. adaptation in September 2019, followed by this summer’s “MTV Cribs: Footballers Stay Home,” which was filmed remotely during the global pandemic. Snapchat also rebooted the format in the U.S. for a short-form series back in 2017.

The show, which is in many ways tailor-made for lockdown programming, takes viewers inside celebrity homes,

Ewan McGregor will soon be donning Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi robes once again.

During a Zoom appearance on the BBC’s “The Graham Norton Show” Friday night, McGregor revealed that Disney Plus’ untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series is finally set to begin filming in March of 2021.

“It’s the Obi-Wan Kenobi story, I suppose. It’s not all me, but it certainly will be a lot of me, which is good,” McGregor said of the show. “We start shooting it in March next year.”

Though the Obi-Wan-centric series was first announced back in Aug. 2019 and meant to begin filming the next year,

“Insecure” star Nastasha Rothwell and Aziza Barnes have teamed to develop a series based on the Ibi Zoboi novel “Pride” at HBO, Variety has learned.

“Pride” is described as a Haitian-Dominican coming of age story explores young love, teenage angst, and gentrification through magical realism fated by the gods of Santeria with an Austenian twist.

Rothwell and Barnes both worked on the story for the project, while Barnes will be the writer. Both will serve as executive producers. Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo of Alloy Entertainment will also executive produce. Alloy Entertainment will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television.

CBS has released teasers for the nine returning shows that now have November season premiere dates.

That includes the network’s No. 2 comedy, Mom, which will enter Season 8 without original co-lead Anna Faris. (At the time it was announced that Faris had exited the series to pursue other opportunities, it was made clear that the role of Christy will not be recast. Rather, her absence will be addressed in a Season 8 storyline.)

After months of Covid-19 production disruption, CBS has finally announced premiere dates for a whole bunch of its scripted shows.

The network has set dates for the return of “Young Sheldon,” “Mom” (without Anna Faris) and “NCIS,” as well as the debut of new Chuck Lorre comedy “B Positive.”

There appears to be no word yet on Queen Latifah’s “The Equalizer” reboot, CBS’ only other new series scheduled to debut in the fall. According to sources close the network, the 10 series premiere dates are for shows which already have several episodes in the can. The network will reveal more

CBS‘ fall schedule is looking a lot more like a fall schedule, with the setting of premiere dates for nine of 18 returning shows that now have full episodes in the can — including the well-watched NCIS and its many offspring, plus Young Sheldon and the suddenly Anna Faris-less Mom.

Also scoring a premiere date is the freshman comedy B Positive, starring Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) and Annaleigh Ashford (Masters of Sex).

A highly competitive Monday night ratings race was narrowly won by ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” as “One Day at a Time” went low with its broadcast debut.

“Dancing With the Stars” came in even on last week with a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 last night, drawing around 6.1 million total viewers in the process. “Emergency Call,” the new docu-series hosted by Luke Wilson, ticked down for the second week straight to a 0.4 rating and just under 3 million total viewers.

“Big Brother” also delivered a 0.9 rating and 3.9 million viewers for CBS, which represents the same rating and a 15% audience bump from last Monday night.

Some very ugly things happen in a very pretty part of the country in the first full trailer for David E. Kelley’s Big Sky.

The series, which stars Ryan Phillippe (Shooter), Kylie Bunbury (Pitch) and Katheryn Winnick (Vikings), will premiere on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 10/9c. In the latest TV ratings, ABC’s Dancing With the Stars celebrated ’80s Night with 6.1 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating, ticking up in viewers and steady in the demo(pending possible adjustment due to NFL preemptions); read recap. “The Bachelorette” always promises to provide ample drama, but this season truly lived up to franchise’s tagline of being “the most dramatic season ever” — before it even started.

Production on Season 16 was shut down just as filming began, at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in the U.S. After a nearly four-month hiatus, the network and studio went to great lengths to ensure filming could ensue in a safe manner, while still providing entertainment for viewers at home. With strict health precautions and creative twists-and-turns, production was successfully completed with no major hiccups.

“Social Distance,” a new Netflix anthology series comprised of short vignettes of life in the early days of the Covid-19 crisis in the U.S., presents critics as well as viewers with a conundrum. On the one hand, it is, in the main, unimpeachably made: Using isolation-appropriate technology like Zoom and Nest cameras to tell what are generally sweet and thoughtful little tales of human connection, or disconnection, at a time of crisis, the show is a worthy use of Netflix resources. But is it worth watching? Only for those eager to relive what were for most of us months of dislocation and pain.

Misha Green is taking responsibility for what she believes is one of the biggest failures of “Lovecraft Country” so far: the storyline of the Indigenous Two-Spirit character Yahima (Monique Candalaria). The “Lovecraft Country” showrunner took to social media this week after the airing of the first season’s penultimate episode to admit she failed the character by killing them off shortly after introducing them.

“I wanted to show the uncomfortable truth that oppressed folks can also be oppressors,” Green wrote in response to a fan asking her about the portrayal of Yahima. “But I didn’t examine or unpack the moment/portrayal of Yahima as thoroughly as I should have. It’s a story point worth making, but I failed in the way I chose to make it.”

Discovery has commissioned “Billy Buys Brooklyn,” a series (20 x 30′) featuring antiques dealer Billy Leroy, star of the long-running Travel Channel series “Baggage Battles.”

Produced by My Entertainment, “Billy Buys Brooklyn” follows the eccentric dealer on his latest venture: a brand new vintage, antiques and collectables store in Brooklyn, New York.

The series will air globally on Discovery’s AVOD service dplay, and channels including Dmax U.K., Italy, Spain & Germany, and Discovery Channel U.S.
