As an investor in Google, I make sure to click the sponsored link vs. the SEO link. Does that make me a bad person? It does right?

Democrats got rid of Al Franken at the first hint of inappropriate behavior. Republicans still haven’t lifted a finger over those in their ranks who committed felony incitement and sedition. It tells you everything about each party that you’ll ever need to know.

As we learn that Trump was planning a coup at DOJ to overturn the election in Georgia, maybe we should revisit this story?

Apr. 9, 1865 (Appomattox, Virginia) — Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant today. "Everybody across this country has some responsibility for this war," Lee told reporters.

Went long TWTR today. It's been so long since a big feature release (that worked) and the ad targeting remains about as useful as watching Fox to get accurate news... ...but weirdly that's the bull case because this platform is so shitty and yet everyone still uses it.

Executive action to increase nutrition benefits (as Biden announced today) is very popular — it's a brave new world for the welfare state.

My general bet is direct cash subsidy from gov't to worker is probably a more effective policy (since it doesn't reduce job supply and keeps availability of entry level jobs to new workers)... ...but in practice 12 -> 15 is probably not material enough to hurt supply anyway.

If temp, you don't want to constrain job supply. It actually will long term reduce employment because there will be fewer entry level, first time jobs. If long term, you want to raise minimum wage because it's impossible for someone to long term live on $12/hr.

The interesting debate about minimum wage is whether you view it as: A) a temporary state (i.e. someone entering workforce for the first time, then working up) B) a long term state (trying to raise family on minimum wage)
