Cult Leader (Lord Obama)

Self explanatory.  Barack Obama is Bush 2.0 and his followers are in denial about it.  The Pro-Obama “left” functions as a cult.  View YouTube description for lyrics.

The Dark Knight, Terrorism, Big Gulps and White Privilege

“Its so upsetting knowing that we cant do fun activities anymore without having a reminder in the back of our head that something terrible might happen….”

This morning, I woke up, rolled over and reached for my phone.  Upon checking my Facebook, I noticed a slew of posts about last night’s shooting in Aurora, Colorado.  Apparently some dude just waltzed into a “Dark Knight Rises” showing with an assault rifle and opened up on the crowd, killing and wounding several audience members.  To be completely honest, I didn’t really care.

I’m sure that might sound cold to many, but hey, we’re not actually that different.  I mean, think about it, did you care when we blew up an Afghan marketplace and wedding party last month?  What about this one, or this one, back in 2008?  I didn’t think so.  Granted, it’s difficult to care about things that the media barely tells us about, but that doesn’t take you off the hook.  If you were as nearly on top of your news game as you were about finding the best quality Mad Men torrents, you’d know.

Regardless, this is a significant story, and the media has responded accordingly.  Go ahead and do a Google news search.  Myriad articles will pop up, titles all containing such words as “shooter” and “gunman.”  Of course, if this guy was brown, I guaran-fucking-tee you he’d be a terrorist.  But don’t worry.  James Holmes is white, and it’s all good according to the Obama Administration, who “…do not believe at this point there was an apparent nexus to terrorism.”  Whew, thank goodness!  The last thing I need is to have to walk past more of these assholes:

Sorry, let me get back to the main point.  Before I even clicked a link to check out the details of the story, I couldn’t help but notice a comment, posted by an unnamed person whose color one might easily guess, about how unsettling it is that we can’t even have fun anymore without the specter of such terrible incidents haunting our minds.  To quote my good friend, Vivienne, in response, “White girl, most people live LIFE with this feeling.”

Word.  And never mind the aforementioned South Asians who experience a perpetually war-torn existence.  We live in a country where a lynching happens every 36 hours, where a black man can’t even leave his own home without getting harassed by the police.   Just ask these guys:

Indeed, us white folks say the darndest things.  We have a very special way of being ignorant of the vast majority of the planet and the issues they deal with.  However, we do deserve some credit.  In an amazing display of solidarity, we showed up in droves to participate in a demonstration earlier this month against Mayor Bloomberg, one of the staunchest proponents of stop-and-frisk:

Oh…. Never mind.  That was the Million Big Gulp March.

No Church in the Wild

I seen that new Jay-Z and Kanye video for No Church in the Wild the other day.  It got me thinking, what would that track sound like if cats were down?  So I went ahead and made it happen:

Why is Black Self-Defense Controversial?

Before I even begin posting regularly, I’d like to clear something up for certain folks out there who have already taken offense.  That black and white image up top is an artistic depiction of the Haitian Revolution (1791-1803).  I ain’t gonna go deep into the history, because I’m not too well-versed in it, but what I do know is that the Haitian revolution was the first successful workers’ revolution in the world.  Haiti, previously known as Saint-Domingue, was a French slave colony, its economy based on the forced labor of 400,000 enslaved Africans.  If you’re upset by that banner up there, you might want to check yourself and possibly rethink your position.  Ask yourself why you don’t blink or think twice when you see images of white Americans using guerrilla tactics against the white British in order to secure a bigger piece of the colonial pie, but you experience shock or unsettlement when presented with images of Vietnamese doing the same to fend off invading US troops, or Africans rising up to free themselves from the most vile form of subjugation.  The above image isn’t a glorification of violence, but it signifies a reversal, a threat against white supremacy and privilege.  As white people we’ve enjoyed collective wealth as a result of the violent domination of the rest of the planet for half a millennium, and an ideological monopoly on violence is necessary in order to maintain that relationship.  So, ‘scuse me if I leave that pic up there for a little bit.
