SAULT - Free

Prolific UK band SAULT (Stack №282) return with their second surprise album of 2020. Like its predecessor, UNTITLED (Rise) exhibits power and range—"there’s smooth and impeccably-constructed soul buildups, jazzy frenetics, and shadowy and cinematic epics," says Stereogum.

Among the week's most-posted tracks is this pointed, horn-backed call and response from South London 's DEADLETTER. Per Little Indie Blogs, the band "channel the droll fury of The Fall and the lopsided rhythm of Gang of Four into a post-punk mayhem as they strike a broadside on the Department for Work and Pensions."

Small Bills (E L U C I D & The Lasso) - Safehouse (feat. Fielded)

Following his summer release as one half of Armand Hammer (Stack №281), NYC underground MC Elucid announces a Mello Music Group-repped collab album with Detroit multi-instrumentalist/producer The Lasso. The lead single is a "very promising dose of psychedelic rap," says BrooklynVegan.

Sun June - Singing

Austin-based indie rock band Sun June (Stack №193) sign to Run For Cover Records and share "Singing," which they call their "groundhog day song. It's about being stuck in an old argument with your partner, wishing you both saw the world the same way."

John FM - February

Detroit producer John FM has worked with Omar-S, AceMo, and Black Noi$e. His recent self-released five-tracker, American Spirit, reveals his talents as a vocalist across "a stepping, raw mix of R&B; and lo-fi house," per Resident Advisor.
GOOD MIX
On NTS Radio, Lisbon-via-West London producer and Stack favorite Bullion airs a smooth mix of left field pop anchored by his own music's recurring presence.
GOOD READ

"Radiohead" reflect on recording OK Computer in an oral history for Clickhole:

"I was wary of the whole computer idea because I didn’t believe it was possible for a computer to play guitar."

Thanks for listening!
