Trump administration delays TikTok curb as POTUS gives ‘blessing’ to concept deal between Oracle and Walmart

In a press release, TikTok confirmed a new proposal involving Oracle and Walmart which aims to “resolve the security concerns of the US Administration.” Under the proposal, Oracle will become TikTok’s “trusted technology provider,” and a commercial partnership with Walmart is also currently in the works. In a separate statement, Oracle confirmed it will buy a 12.5% stake in TikTok Global. Following the announcements, the US Department of Commerce said the prohibition of TikTok transactions will now be delayed until 11.59 pm on September 27.
