My family paid dearly for US sanctions on Iran, when we couldn’t procure the drugs my dad needed to survive in 2017. He died as a result. Now those same sanctions are killing hundreds and hundreds of Iranians during a global pandemic. I wrote about it.

picked up jon ronson’s “so you’ve been publicly shamed” a few days back and I can’t put it down. it’s an incredible work of journalism, moral psychology, and social theory

I, for one, am excited to see what song Biden will play from his phone to reach out to middle eastern voters

the point I think is that gendered violence is a given with these programs, because the logic of racialized harm is fundamentally gendered, much in the same way that it’s fundamentally economic. disambiguating those claims is worthwhile but tricky, especially on this platform

as some folks have pointed out, the claim that eugenics has a very specifically gendered logic isn’t controversial at all. and it’s not genocide denialism. it’s the right kind of issue to tease out and emphasize. it’s just that the discourse is often very poorly framed on twitter

Dershowitz is such an incredible self incrimination machine. he is 100% going to say some shit on this that’ll feed the investigation into his collusion with Epstein. this fucking rules

  17. This "plan" was written by some hapless 20-something staffer, Biden has no idea what's in the "plan," and Democrats have zero will to carry out the "plan." That's why Twitter randos are desperately trying to convince themselves and you there's a "plan"

I'm convinced that we'll never ever again see a politician as principled as Corbyn on the international stage. Fucking sucks.

If your newspaper promoted the Green Party as hard as it did The Iraq War they'd probably be able to do more.

Does the election of AOC mark a milestone in the development of a popular left? I think so but that remains to be seen. But the Green Party has been on the right side of almost every major issue in the last several decades and this kind of comparing and contrasting is fatuous.

Green Party was on the forefronts of opposing the Iraq war while the democratic establishment adamantly supported it. They've been fighting for a Green New Deal for decades. For universal healthcare. For defunding militarism and reforming policing. We don't have to be like this.
