    We are fundraising! With winter fast approaching, more and more people are facing food insecurity. For many this means the choice between paying bills and buying food. Help us continue to provide free, healthy food to anyone who needs it.

    Yesterday we delivered our 250,000th meal. That's a quarter of a million meals made from surplus food and provided free of charge. All by volunteers. We are blown away and completely humbled.

    Not about me. It’s for children crying out for our help. Try explaining this to them. The debate is still to come. The answer has to be long-term stability, not sticking plasters or ‘freebies’ as called it. It’s about time we worked together.

    Today we are delivering 639 Day Packs across Edinburgh. We will also serve about 150 walk-in meals outside the . That is almost 800 people in Edinburgh who would otherwise go hungry. Let that sink in.

    Occasionally we have excess produce on our hands. We are now using , an app that shares surplus food in the community. Eliminating food waste is one of our core principles. We are very excited to be able to take this further with OLIO!

    Our food heroes are the volunteers who give their time to come and help at Empty Kitchens, Full Hearts. Each and every one of them are amazing. Because of their dedication we can keep 700 people a day fed and healthy.

    Today, 490,000 children across the UK are sitting in class worried to death about not being able to access food during October Half-Term. 490,000 vulnerable children. Worried sick about going hungry when the school closes. Let that sink in.
