Record Store Day 2020 Releases

Record Store Day is a celebration of the record store and its culture impact on the community, from the shop clerk holding down the best local releases to hardcore collectors digging for rarities to the vinyl newbie just starting their journey.

Historically, Record Store Day falls in April. However, for 2020, RSD will take place across three special, socially distanced events on August 29, September 26, and October 24. That means three days of different drops to allow stores to accommodate smaller crowds (and to keep you coming back for more).

This marks the 13th year for Record Store Day. RSD 2019 delivered an all-time high of 827,000 vinyl albums sold industry-wide. According to Nielsen, 633,000 vinyl albums sold at independent record stores, a 16% increase over 2018 that makes 2019 the biggest year to date. Will 2020 see even better sales? We think so.

The 2020 RSD list is full of incredible records. We’re talking reissues and remasterings from the classics like David Bowie, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and Thelonious Monk, as well as new gems from hot names like Billie Eilish and Odd Future. If you want to check out the entire lineup, head over to the Record Store Day website.

New for 2020 is a friendlier online shopping experience. In previous years, shoppers would have to wait for albums to show up in the Discogs Marketplace. Now, sellers can easily list their RSD stock on Discogs.

Here is a list of all RSD 2020 releases as they're submitted by the Discogs community Use this list to keep track of what you’re looking for by adding them to your Discogs Wantlist, that way you’ll get a notification when it’s added to the Marketplace. If you can’t get out to your favorite record store, search for their name in the Marketplace and check out their Seller account to score their RSD albums directly. Check out our RSD articles here as well, to keep a beat on what everyone's talking about. Keep an eye on this page for the list of September 26 and October 24 drops as well.

Good luck and happy (virtual) digging!
