As the US elite cynically manipulates the deaths of those killed eleven years ago on September 11 in America, where are their tears for the many dead in Chile, killed by the agents of their predecessors on the same day 39 years ago?
The strikes across Europe, the swing to the radical Left in countries like Greece and the uprisings across the Arab world for freedom and food, justice and jobs offer real hope to humanity – that people come before profit and that only with the triumph of a cooperative and democratic society worldwide can we end all the September 11s.

Bombing raids have been used from Guernica and Dresden to Afghanistan as a way to intimidate populations, crush cities and break the resistance of ordinary people. Drones are the latest barbarism in this long, terrible tradition.
Martin Luther King on the other America

Reading this speech of Martin Luther King 44 years later, two things stand out. One is King’s radicalism. In the final years of his life, he took up questions of institutional racism, economic justice and imperialist war–all are central to this speech. The other is the fact that all these questions remain with us to this day. King’s statement that African Americans were disproportionately affected by unemployment and living through a “literal depression” could be said about the U.S. in 2012.

BOMBS and bribes, promises and threats. That’s Barack Obama’s formula for derailing the revolutions in the Arab world and keeping the region under U.S. domination.

Apparently it is OK to kill kids if you are the American ruling class. Only turning this upside down world right way up – working class revolution – can stop the murder of the innocents.

On every issue, the Obama administration has acted like its hated Republican predecessors far more often than anyone would have guessed.

All the old Bush lies were there. According to Barack Obama, invading Afghanistan was and is about stopping terrorism. It was and is about preventing more September 11s. It was and is about stopping the Taliban. It was and is about stopping new attacks on the United States. None of this is true. All Obama has […]

On Tuesday Barack Obama is set to announce that he will send an extra 34000 American troops to Afghanistan. This decision will destroy his Presidency. It will become the symbol of Obama’s failure to implement progressive change; it will be the death knell of Obama’s ideology of change and a recognition of his final embrace of the Bush project. […]

Fort Hood is the logical expression of the US pillage of the world. Until the US working class liberates itself and us from the beast, that beast will kill again, and again, and again.
