The breath of tomorrow is yours
I stand with the illusionists
And those who have illusions
Well, those card men and women
Who trick us to waste two dollars
To survive
Not two billion to thrive
And the illusioned?
What do we say to them?
That two dollar card games are tricks?
They know this reality
Then how do we explain
That the two billion is the real game?
History’s ways wend
Like a river of slow bends
Toxic, full of waste
Upstream, the fresh water floods
Rushing to rid the past
Of filth
In haste we rebuild
Tomorrow, today
And then the card sharks
Show their truth
Their arms built strong
Their tongues sleek
And full of El Dorado
We are not weak
We are the torrent
That seeks and sends
The ends to build the new
To drive the money lenders
And all the motley, their crew
To the bottom
Of their river
Their solid melts
The disillusion has died
As the illusions ride
To join the illusioned
In fantasy writ real
Live, love, feel
The day approaches
Silent, steady here, rushing there
And we can broach
The socialism of care
The breath of tomorrow is yours
Illusioned no more
