Toy Love - Captain Cook Tavern, Dunedin NZ 8-23-80

Toy Love were from Dunedin New Zealand and seem the be the biggest and most successful of the New Zealand Punk bands. Three members were previously in the Punk band The Enemy which started in 1977 and played their last show at the end of 1978. The Enemy went into recording studios several time but split up without releasing anything. The three members of The Enemy were joined by two former members of the band The Basketcases to form Toy Love. Toy Love released one album and three single, all of which made it into the New Zealand charts. This live recording was recorded at about the time the album was released and it features many Enemy songs besides newer compositions. This is a soundboard recording and the quality is excellent.

Bailter Space - Powerstation, Auckland NZ 3-04-90

Bailter Space were from Christchurch New Zealand and had their start in 1980 under the name The Gordons. Over several line up changes The Gordons released two albums. One original member started a new band in 1986 that became Bailter Space and by 1989 the two other original members of The Gordons had joined. Between 1988 and 2013 Bailter Space released nine albums. On this show the band are mostly playing songs from their 2nd album. It's an audience recording and has good sound quality. Here's two more from July 1982. The Bremen show was recorded and broadcast by Radio Bremen in Germany. Lydia Lunch sings Funhouse with the band at this show. Sound quality is very good. The Liverpool show is an audience recording. Sound quality is good. [from cassette tape]

Birthday Party - Posthoornkerk, Amsterdam 11-08-81

The Boys Next Door moved to London in February 1980 and on arrival changed the name of the band to The Birthday Party. The first year in London was a slow and difficult one but in 1981 they started touring again, around the UK, fist trip to the USA and at the end of the year they toured around Europe. This show was one show on that tour. It was recorded by VPRO and broadcast on the radio. Soundquality is very good. Unfortunatley, my tape seems to be missing the first three songs, "Nick The Stripper" + "The Dead Songs" + "She's Hit". Those first two songs from this show can be found on the Cremation bootleg LP. Boys Next Door - Swinburne College, Melbourne 8-19-77

Boys Next Door were from Melbourne Australia and started off in 1976. Initially the band started as a four piece and were playing mostly cover songs with just a few originals in the classic 1977 style. In 1978 they released their first single with a cover of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made For Walking" on the a-side and an original on the b-side with an additional song being released on the Lethal Weapon comp. LP. In late 1978 the band added an additional guitarist and the sound change. They released two LPs and a few more singles before changing their name the The Birthday Party. This recording is one of their earliest shows and it was recorded by 3SW student radio. Sound quality is very good. [from cassette tape]

Kim Salmon & The Surrealists - Prince of Wales, Melbourne 10-14-88

Kim Salmon was the singer in the Scientists. When that band split up he started this band. They released their first album in 1988. This show is an audience recording with good sound quality. Can anyone fill in the song titles?
