Welcome to my website.  I am the Louise Hewlett Nixon Professor, and Professor of Comparative Literature, at Stanford University.  I am also the founding editor of the e-journal, Occasion: Interdisciplinary Studies in the Humanities. I write for Truthout‘s Public Intellectual Project, and my work has also appeared in The Washington Post, The Nation, The Guardian, Jacobin, Salon, Al Jazeera, The Hill, Buzzfeed, Vox, and other venues.
