Gente que "habita e orbita" a Disgraça, queremos partilhar convosco umas quantas coisas:

O Tattoo Circus, que se iria realizar no próximo fim de semana, será adiado, ainda sem data prevista. Dado o panorama atual, encontramos diversas limitações para realizar o evento de forma a que toda a gente se sinta e esteja segura. Sabemos, também, que pela necessidade de quebrar as correntes de contágio, a afluência de pessoas ao espaço seria limitada, e dado que o objetivo principal deste encontro é angariar o máximo de fundos para apoiar financeiramente pessoas que estão presas ou que enfrentam situações de repressão com as autoridades estatais, não encontramos razões para fazê-lo neste contexto.

A Disgraça é um local de convergência de muitas e muitos, e de tantos diferentes lados. A partir de uma preocupação comunitária e impulsionadas pela rejeição da ideia de podermos vir a viver um cenário de descontrole pandémico, onde sabemos que os mais afetados serão os "excedentes" sociais, decidimos parar as nossas atividades.

Estaremos atentas à evolução da situação e às necessidades que possam ir surgindo, por isso estamos recetivas e prontas para apoiar. Entrem em contacto connosco, caso seja preciso. Tecer e reforçar um tecido comunitário em cada prédio, em cada bairro, pode ser a única forma de resistir à provável possibilidade do reforço do poder do estado paternalista, e até a militarização das nossas ruas. São tempos incertos, mas o que é inevitável é a instrumentalização da situação pelo poder, com medidas que se estenderão e se normalizarão muito depois de isto tudo ter acabado.

E como bem sabemos, nem a ferocidade viral trava irreversivelmente o capital e as suas relações, mas simultaneamente tem a capacidade de expor as suas contradições. Enquanto muitas e muitos de nós podemos escolher o recolhimento em lugares relativamente seguros e confortáveis, há a quem a sua possibilidade de escolha, há muito, tenha sido completamente roubada pela hegemonia. Lembremo-nos das presas e dos presos, das despejadas sem casa, das milhares de pessoas refugiadas estagnadas na violência dos muros da europa, das imigrantes sem papéis, das que nem casa têm, das que isolamento significa risco de mais violência e tantas outras.

Everyone who "inhabits and orbits" Disgraça, we want to share a few things with you:

Tattoo Circus, which would take place next weekend, will be postponed indefinitely. Given the current scenario, we found several limitations to carry out the event so that everyone feels, and is, safe. We also know that due to the need of breaking the chains of contagion, the influx of people would be limited, and given that the main objective of this meeting is to raise the maximum amount of funds to financially support people who are in prison or facing situations of state repression, we find no reason to do it in this context.

Disgraça is a place of convergence for many, from many different places. Based on a community concern and driven by the rejection of the idea that we could live a uncontrolled pandemic scenario, where we know that the most affected will be the social "surpluses", we decided to completely stop our activities.

We will be attentive to the evolution of the situation and the needs that may arise, and so we are receptive and ready to support. Get in touch with us, if necessary. Weaving and strengthening a community fabric in each building, in each neighborhood, may be the only way to resist the probable possibility of strengthening the power of the paternalistic state, and the militarization of our streets. These are uncertain times, but what is inevitable is the instrumentalization of the situation by the power, with measures that will extend and normalize long after this is all gone.

And as we well know, even the viral ferocity won't stop the capital and its relationships irreversibly, but at the same time it has the capacity to expose its contradictions. While many, many of us can choose to retreat in relatively safe and comfortable places, there are those who have long since been completely robbed of their choice by the hegemony. Let us remember the prisoners, the evicted, the thousands of refugee people stagnating in the violence of the European walls, the immigrants without papers, those who don't even have a home, those to whom house isolation means risking further violence, and many others.
