A Matter of Life and Death ? Emma-Louise Rhodes ? Researcher of Psychic Phenomena and the Spiritualist Faith

Seance

If one thing in life is certain, it is death. Our fascination with the apparent ability of the dead to return to this world burns as strongly now as it did at the advent of Spiritualism, just over one hundred and fifty years ago.

It is my intention to explore these beliefs and form rational conclusions on issues such as the Spiritualist faith, alleged psychic powers and the conjuring up of those who have ‘crossed over’.

This website is not about out-and-out attacks on individual mediums or believers of Spiritualism, but rather a resource dedicated to examining the paranormal and explaining it.

“It is not for us to prove that the mediums are dishonest, it is for them to prove that they are honest. If there is anything to Spiritualism, then the world should know it. If there is nothing to it, if it is, as it appears, built on a flimsy framework of misdirection, then too the universe must be told, There is too much at stake for a flighty passing, for unsubstantial truths.”
