    Sullivan is a fool and is historically illiterate. And the center didn’t collapse in Weimar Germany. Conservatives just decided they wouldn’t ally with communists against fascists, whom they let take over.

    “Smear merchant” is almost word-for-word what people like Merwin Hart and John T. Flynn used to call liberals and lefts in the 1940s when they were labeled as “fascists” for expressing the same political opinion as Sully here.
