Episode 23: The Rise of the Extreme Right in Europe
The co-hosts interview Ralph Keller, a scholar researching the resurgence of the extreme right in the European Union. They discuss the causes and extent of the resurgence as well as the relationship between right-wing “speech” and right-wing violence. While acknowledging that the far right is not yet in government, Keller argues that its rise should be a matter of urgent concern, because of the influence of far-right ideas within mainstream politics and among ordinary people.
Plus current-events segment: the battle in Portland—protesters and moms and vets vs. Trump and Barr’s stormtroopers.
