The music to what I think is Radley Metzger's erotic masterpiece has everything one could wish for in a "sleazy listening" soundtrack. I can't believe I haven't posted it before now. Thanks so much for everyone's kind words during my little absence. They really mean a lot to me and I'm glad to see that so many of you enjoy my blog so much. Sleazy Listening turned 2 years old back in March and hopefully I'll be able to continue on for years to come (or I run out of stuff to share).

Today's upload is filling a request and it's one I'm very happy to do. This limited edition disc pairing Double Face and The Devil's Nightmare is one of my very favorites. Both scores, especially DN, forgo the usual groovy sound shared here and are much more dark and eerie. From the first time I watched The Devil's Nightmare many years ago I was struck by the soundtrack. It still gives me the creeps when I listen to it!

Here's a great soundtrack that was requested by Wille recently. It's beautiful and laid back with one groovy number right in the middle. I'd compare it to some of Morricone's best work, which of course is high praise. I know you will all love this one.

Piero Umiliani - La Legge Dei Gangsters (1969)

La Legge Dei Gangsters (or Gangsters' Law) is a lesser known Klaus Kinski film about a con man who double crosses a group of bank robbers. I've not seen the film, but the soundtrack is a nice collection of crime jazz numbers (some of them pretty long) from the great Piero Umiliani. Check it out.

Ennio Morricone - L'Assoluto Naturale (1969)

"L'Assoluto Naturale" (also known as He And She) was an erotic drama starring the lovely Sylva Koscina. The score, both gentle and dramatic, is a beautiful example of what Morricone was doing at the time. It's one of my very favourites by the Maestro and I hope you all enjoy it as well.
