this is a must for those of you looking to complete your on broadway box set.its a promo disk that comprises interviews! and some tracks from the box set as well.very high quality sound and cover artwork.it was originally produced as a promotional disk for record shops when the on broadway set was first released.go out and try and buy the original issue of the set.it comes in an amazing box with 2 wonderful books : an illustrated lyrics book and a song by song breakdown of the box set itself.an essential purchase for all serious clash fans and collectors.

another quality clash bootleg this one.like the on broadway interview disk(which i will post later)this one was made up to look like it could have been an official part of the boxset.the disk is even stamped 'promotional use only'.comprising rehearsals,demos and alternate mixes etc its a great disk for your collection.track 1 is a brilliant version of 'rock the casbah' with ranking roger toasting on it.in the meantime listen,enjoy and then leave a comment.thanks!

this is one ive not been able to find too much info on.i know the bootleg was initially a double-vinyl issue but apart from that not much else.all i know that its another excellent sound quality live c.d from the mondo-de-muebles archives that finds the cramps playing a blistering set of their demented take on all things trash and psychobilly.trashabilly if you like.anyway play this very loud,listen,do a silly dance and most of all enjoy,and leave a comment.thanks!
p.s As ive been listening to this it occurred to me that Nick Knox died just over a year ago on June 15th.he really was the coolest drummer in rock n roll. R.I.P Nick

The Clash - Atlanta 2.10.79

this is another show from the 'take the 5th tour'.The tour swings down south into Georgia and Texas but without the Undertones who left after the Toronto gig. The band and particularly Joe were excited and inspired by playing in the southern states for the first time. Money problems continued; with Epic not coming through, the road crew were particularly difficult with drastic measures needed by Johnny Green and Baker.Pennie Smith was at the gig taking photos; one at least is credited to Atlanta on the back cover of London Calling.so this is a great sounding gig but with an edge to it.i cant explain what but listen for yourselves,play it loud till the neighbours threaten to call the police,then turn it down and leave a comment.thanks!

Beastie Boys - Mixed and Mashed

My tribute to the late great MCA Adam Yauch.its a compilation of mashups etc featuring,the clash,joe strummer,depeche mode,the ramones etc etc.theres 14 tracks in total including one which isnt a mashup but is the hard to get single 'rock hard' which samples back in black by ac/dc so it almost is.anyway whilst listening spare a moment to think of Adam and his great contribution to music from punk to hip hop and so much in between.R.I.P MCA

The Buzzcocks - Finsbury Park 23rd June 1996

Going through a hard drive today looking for a documentary on the film director George Romero,i found this(couldnt find the documentary though!).anyway this is the buzzcocks set from the sex pistols finsbury park show in June 1996.i haven't listened to this show in years and on a day like today whilst the sun is vaguely shining,this is the perfect set to listen to.9 tracks in total all taken from what sounds like an FM broadcast (i might be wrong).I was at the show and listening to this reminded me what a great day it was.The buzzcocks are on top form here and the sound is superb.get it on your listening devices now and crank it up.then please leave a comment.thanks very much!

Keith Levene - Violent Opposition repost request

an interesting one for clash completists is this long out of print album from one time clash member keith levene."This was Levene's first proper release. 12 tracks mostly made up of instrumentals or cover versions. The majority of tracks come from his two previous EP releases" (from wikipedia).two of the cover versions are the ska classics 'liquidator' and 'double barrel'.its an interesting album and one you should like.so now you just have to listen,enjoy and leave a comment.thanks!

Another post for your delight and listening pleasure this evening we have a live show from the selecter recorded in amsterdam in 1980.top sound in this one from a broadcast on a dutch radio station which is why this has such brilliant sound quality.i recently got this copy from camden dave but i dont know where he got it.anyway the band are on top form in this show and is a real joy to listen to brilliant versions of classics like 3 minute hero and train to skaville.so listeners its time for you to listen to it for yourselves,enjoy it so much you want to leave a comment.thanks!

With the sad passing on Tuesday of Beat vocalist Ranking Roger at the far too young age of only 56, here is a reposting of a show from the band recorded in Hammersmith in 1982.RR was an awesome presence on the stage,non stop bouncing,dancing and singing from start to finish,a true gentleman who even though i never met him,will miss him terribly. Evening all.here is a really interesting post i received yesterday from Mr Camden Dave.It's a show originally broadcast on Radio 4 in 2009 In which as the title suggests the history of the bootleg recording is traced from the earliest recordings at the Metropolitan in New york in the late 1800's through the 60's and 70's up to the present day(well 2009 at least!).an interesting piece to listen to on your commute to work or similar it runs just under an hour and is well worth a listen.so please listen enjoy and leave a comment,thanks!

I really thought i had lost this vol.1 of my own Clash related compilation,i couldn't find the original disk or file anywhere,and then earlier on today a long time friend of the blog Mr Marky Dread(cheers old chap!!) sent me a link for it.It came from someone else (im sorry ive lost their name but please pass on my thanks and eternal gratitude),its 13 tracks for your listening pleasure and its a cracker.consisting of a few interviews and some great live tracks and tv performances etc etc,this volume of the series is probably my favourite of the lot,maybe as its the first one i did or something ,who knows?but hopefully you'll love it as much as i do.anyhoo please listen enjoy and leave a comment.thanks!

continuing the reposts for today is a great compilation from x-ray spex featuring some great pogo friendly tunes.included here amongst others are 'identity' and ' germ free adolescents' to name but two.i used to see poly styrene doing her shopping in sainsburys in dulwich (a supermarket in south london)but was always too shy to ask for her autograph.i actually used to take cd and record covers etc with me for her to sign but never plucked up the courage to ask her.anyway they were also a brilliant live band and ive had some wonderful nights going to see them.so now its time for you to play it loud till the neighbours threaten to call the police again,enjoy that moment,then turn it down and leave a comment.thanks!

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros - Glastonbury 1999

the last posting for this evening is Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros at Glastonbury in 1999.this one is taken from a (probably)bbc radio 6 re-broadcast in 2003(i think).anyway its 12 tracks long and features a great mix of clash and mescaleros faves.joe is on great form and dedicates 'rock the casbah' to an ex-drummer of his you may have heard of.the sound here is brilliant and sounds fantastic on either good speakers or headphones.so you really,really have no excuses in not playing this loud,enjoying it and then leaving a comment on it.thanks!
