The bad faith misrepresentations of the decision by Sally Rooney to turn down the publishing house Modan as boycotting an entire language are a deliberate smear to vilify someone taking a principled stand in support of the people of Palestine.

A Wealth tax of 0.05% on financial transactions would raise £250bn pa. It would cost £5.1bn gross pa (less than £1bn net when money is then recirculated in the economy) to give NHS nurses & staff a 15% payrise. It’s about wanting a better world.

Saddened to hear about the loss of Abolhassan Banisadr, a truly principled and determined man who was always on the side of independence, freedom and justice and fought all his life for the Iranian people.

Times front page: Sex claims against 2,000 policemen, "sexual misconduct and other police corruption is routinely covered up". This is a scandal. And a complete failure of leadership at the highest echelons of the police and at the Home Office.

Labour's priority? Going after whistle blowers who revealed institutional bullying and racism in the Labour machine. Classy.

To restore trust in media, it's vital news anchors be permitted to repeatedly interview their own brother, then exploit their brother's position to skip to the head of the COVID line, then lie about being in COVID isolation, then have your network be silent about his harassment.

If you want to know about Labour's priorities, think about how much more money it's spending on lawyers for internal factional revenge, compared to how much it spent campaigning against the £20 cut to Universal Credit that will bring misery to so many. (What campaign? Precisely.)

Establishment figure will provide NO socialist alternative at the next general election. Faced with all this poverty and chaos in energy supplies Labour will do nothing substantial to change it.

We have written to the government along with 46 other organisations, calling for a full inquiry into deaths by suicide amongst young unaccompanied asylum-seekers and refugees. We are still awaiting their official response.

At least 11 teenagers who arrived in the UK as unaccompanied asylum-seeking children have died by suicide since 2016. The true number is unknown as the government is not collecting data on deaths of young asylum-seekers and refugees.

Henok's tragic death is an indictment of the care given to asylum-seekers - and the pressures put on them within the asylum system.
