My name is Jack Cluth. I was born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Walker, MN. I went to high school in St. Cloud, MN, and attended Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. Armed with degrees in History and Anthropology, I embarked on a journey that’s taken me to several foreign countries, including a detour to Texas (3,722 days…not that I was counting).
I began my career as a teacher, but over the years I’ve worn many hats. The common thread has always been my gift for and love of writing.
Now firmly and happily rooted in Portland, OR, I refer to myself as a writer…but one word doesn’t begin to describe my skills and how they may benefit you or your organization. I’m also a skilled editor, communicator, social media specialist, and development professional. If it requires complete sentences and a compelling message, I can help you create it.
I use my skill and proficiency to help people and organizations tell their story…or tell their story better. I’m a writing instructor and professional who helps individuals and organizations design and implement effective written communications strategies. I’m an editor adept at working with writers on manuscript and message development. I also help clients establish and maintain an online presence and personality across numerous social media platforms.
My expertise provides value to anyone in need of assistance with creating and delivering effective and persuasive writing. I’ve written for a wide variety of audiences (my first published piece was actually translated into Albanian for a magazine in Kosovo), and I’m adept at tailoring messages to reach a wide range of target audiences. I can help you or your organization create effective written content with a consistent tone and voice.
