Submissions
We welcome submissions from all writers. If you are considering sending work, please start by reading an issue or two. The best submission guidelines are those implied by the magazine itself.
New fiction, essays, criticism, and translation may be sent to submissions@nplusonemag.com. We publish a limited number of pieces in the magazine, which comes out three times yearly, and a larger array of work in our online-only section.
Please note that we currently do not accept poetry, art, illustration, or interview submissions and that we place a strong emphasis on publishing work by and about living authors.
We do our best to respond to all submissions but our resources are limited and we are not always able to reply.
Internships
n+1 offers paid internships to college students and recent graduates for the spring, summer, and fall. The internship requires a part-time, two to three-month commitment to our New York office and gives a wide-ranging introduction to the work of a small magazine. Interns assist with evaluating submissions, research, fact-checking, proofreading, event planning, publicity, website administration, and more. Pay is $13.50 an hour for fifteen hours a week.
