  2. White House is insisting on zero money for testing & contact tracing in Congress stimulus bill - zero. Trump would rather America flies blind on pandemic than register a rising infection rate. This is way worse than negligence. He knows exactly what he's doing.

"Ninety five per cent of the US economy is suffering an R rate high enough to cause an exponential rise in the number of cases." America is probably heading for a second wave of lockdowns, which is bad news for the economy says Gavyn Davies.

Closer November looms, clearer it becomes that a Trump defeat, however thumping, would not break the Republican fever. What follows will be a more organized Christian nativist party. Cotton, Pompeo, Hawley....There’s a talent pool of menace.

Pompeo gave a speech last week in which he elevated two rights - property and religious liberty - above all others. His Christian nationalist presidential ambitions and confederate whitewashing pose a threat to the US republic. says . I agree.

Most striking aspect is that Deborah Birx is a super-enabler of Trump’s worst instincts. She’s played the role of propagandist not scientist. Hard to forgive.

🚨 I've been waiting for Ruy Teixeira to write this piece a LONG time. Teixeira was the first to argue that demographic changes help Democrats. But he also believes a misinterpretation of his theory helped elect Trump. Here, he sets the record straight.

Trump claims China's trade was flatlining before it joined WTO in 2001, which is nonsense: In the 1990s it globalised on a scale and speed never matched before or since.
