My name is Alda Sigmundsdóttir and I am a writer, journalist and blogger based in Iceland. From 2004-2010 this site was primarily the venue for my blog. On it I mostly chronicled what life was like in Iceland, culminating in a play-by-play account of the 2008 economic meltdown, and the ensuing fall-out.

I still blog occasionally, but over on my own personal website. Most of my Iceland updates are on my Facebook page, though.

I am the author of several books, all of which deal with Iceland in one way or another. My latest book, released in June 2017, is The Little Book of Tourists in Iceland.
