Because we both worked in footy, the only Richmond game I got to watch with dad was Richo’s 1st game in ‘93, weeks before dad died. After Richo kicked a running bouncing goal, he said “His old man was a draught horse, but I think he’s sired a thoroughbred”. My drawing of Richo

Just added cancer survivor to my profile. There were no signs I had cancer. GP thought we should check, went 'two knuckles deep', felt a lump. Surgery three months later to remove my prostate. Tad rugged but signs are good that I am now cancer-free. Lads, get yourself checked.

Today I learned... The white man in this photo was Peter Norman from Australia who finished 2nd the 1968 200m final. Norman stood in solidarity with the American Black athletes. It was Norman who suggested, when discovered they only had 1 pair of gloves, to each wear one. (cont)

Just came across this little treasure trove thanks to OzTiger73. The best of Michael Roach in 1979, the year he announced himself. Tassie has been good for champion Tiger forwards. Hart-Roach-Richardson-Riewoldt

On this day 14 years ago, the siren did not ring loud enough or long enough in Tasmania. Game won, then game lost. As Chris Connolly said at the time "Even the blokes down in Beaconsfield mine heard the siren"

My drawing of Tiger champ Trent Cotchin. There was a badge we sold during the 1990 SOS days that read: “I was there when we were down”. This came to mind when the last 3 goals of the 2019 GF were kicked by Cotchin, Martin and Riewoldt, all of whom were ‘there when we were down’.
