    I am not exaggerating when I say that "listen to the voters" is not just bad political strategy but potentially literally suicidal.

    Boomers (65+) agree that: 1) universities should reopen, by 63-20 (YouGov 25/09) 2) students should be banned from returning home, by 49-34 (21/09) 3) the time is right to return to the office, by 44-35 (27/08) 4) young people are responsible for rise in cases, by 73-22 (11/09)

    The truth is the left is bad at sharing the output of the left. AFAIK only one blog regularly pushes new left media projects, and that's mine.

    I think instead of the Left moaning about Andrew Neil & yet another Right-Wing platform - we should help to build up the likes of Double Down News, the Tribune & Novara media None of them will get corporate funding so they require activists like us to help them grow

    Seeing Gammons celebrate the announcement of an openly right-wing TV "news" channel confirms what I've always thought. They don't actually want unbiased news. They want billionaire-owned ultra-right-wing propaganda. Which is why they read the Daily Heil and listen to Talk Radio.

    The leaders of the TUs and big cooperatives will continue to pursue the same comms strategy that has brought us here until their members make it clear to them that it is no longer acceptable. Leo has drafted a workable plan for members to take control of comms budgets.

    This underscores the urgency of the left building its own well-resourced media with real original newsgathering capacity - if what happened to Corbynism didn't already. What level of right-wing media domination do we need to reach before the labour movement invests properly?

    As for the future, I’m delighted to announce I have accepted the post of Chairman of GB News, a new news channel to be launched early in the New Year bringing new perspectives to the news. I will also be presenting a new nightly prime-time show on GB News. Watch this space.
