'Dear Tommy, just a line or two, To let you know that we've pulled through, And to our country we'll be true, The canny lads from Prudhoe.' - Pte. Alby Gibbons, 4th Northumberland Fusiliers A very happy to all our supporters & volunteers on Tyneside!

Private Alby Gibbons of “D Company” of the 4’ Northumberland Fusiliers, from Prudhoe, composed several poems at the Front during World War One. These were printed and sold locally at a penny each initially to provide cigarettes for the local soldiers at the Front and later to aid the working party which provided the soldiers at the Front with much needed extra clothing.
