This endpoint will be deprecated in favor of the sampled stream endpoint, now available in Twitter Developer Labs. To give developers the necessary time to transition, we will give a formal 6 month notice prior to retiring this endpoint.
GET statuses/sample
Returns a small random sample of all public statuses. The Tweets returned by the default access level are the same, so if two different clients connect to this endpoint, they will see the same Tweets.
