                    Who can vote?

                    To be eligible to vote in the Melbourne City Council elections, people must be on the Melbourne City Council voters’ roll, 57 days before Election Day. This is called 'close of roll’ and is 4pm on Friday 28 August 2020.

                    The categories of people entitled to vote at elections for Melbourne City Council include: 

                    • residents of the municipality 
                    • owners of rateable property in the municipality 
                    • occupiers of rateable property in the municipality 
                    • people appointed to vote on behalf of corporations that own or occupy rateable property in the municipality. 

                    Those entitled to vote must be over 18 years or age (or will turn 18 on or before 24 October 2020).
