    While fascism may start with the leaders, it’s enacted through the petty bureaucrats, sometimes eagerly when it connects with their own ignorance and prejudices...

    Today received this from our school. Basically says EU kids can’t study at school without Settled Status post 31/10 School may have this wrong/ be overreacting but where are they even meant to get good advice? And now imagine you’re an EU parent panicking!

    This is pretty damn shocking, but in the era following the Facebook and Cambridge Analytica scandals, maybe not that surprising.

    NEW: We analysed 136 popular web pages about mental health in France, Germany and the UK and found that websites share users' personal data with advertisers and other third parties. Some also leak depression test results. More here:

    Either you take democratic principles seriously or you don't. Delaying leaving the EU is a cover for wanting to reverse the outcome of the vote, and we all know it. To adapt a phrase: democracy delayed is democracy denied.

    The most bizarre thing about this is the implicit acknowledgement that it’s going to be profoundly disruptive. Nobody needs to ‘get ready’ for more prosperity and independence, which is all that the Brexit campaign ever promised.

    I’ve just had a rather big cramp, in the inside of my right thigh, trying to get up from the sofa. Eesh.

    A big day in the saddle today, cycling the Mad Summer Hare with lovely people from the Cycle Club. Just a shade under 200km in all — was eager to get it over 200km, but in turns those last 4.5km were not to be found in my legs today.
