Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin was elected as Ireland’s new prime minister by parliament on Saturday, leading a historic three-party coalition of Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party. The role will operate on a rotating basis, with incumbent Leo Varadkar re-taking the post in late 2022.
