About Us
Hashomer Hatzair, also known as ‘Hashy’ amongst the Melbourne Jewish community, is a worldwide Jewish youth movement for kids aged 7 to 18.
As a Secular Socialist Zionist Jewish movement, our aim is to provide each of our chanichim*ot with a strong sense of their own personal Jewish and Zionist identity, and to encourage chanichim*ot to think critically about the world around them.
What could be better than making friends while learning about identity, social justice issues and activism?
The Hall at the Ken is available to rent and is
perfect for functions! With a full length mirror
running across one of the walls, the space is also
perfect for running classes, a dance bar also
available for rent.

Hashy is a not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by volunteer efforts. Our events, activities, and peulot, however, do require funds for necessities such as electricity and stationary. These donations also contribute to subsidising our camps, making them more accessible to everyone.
