A Quebec police investigator is set to look into the death of a Mi’kmaq man, identified by friends as Rodney Levi, after he was shot twice and killed by RCMP in or near Red Bank, New Brunswick, on Friday. Police allege that Levi advanced towards the officers, "armed with a knife." Levi is the second Indigenous person killed in the Canadian province this month.
