(36) How can you say: "I like Chinese people, I just don’t like their government" — I have to disagree. Chinese people are their government and their government are Chinese people. Criticise one, you criticise all. #China

(35) So I ask: Why wouldn’t they love a government that gives them all these improvements, all this security and promises to manage their towns and cities in a way that helps to continue with these benefits? #China

(34) and a party with 80 million members and 22 million applying for 2 million positions every year, the Chinese people really are managed by the people for the people

(33) People in China know they won’t go to prison for doing nothing wrong, they know they are protected, not just by surveillance, but by a police service that works for them rather than against them

(32) They switch on their phones and the government knows where they are and what they are buying and here’s the thing that surprises most westerners — They like this, it makes them feel safe and they know they won’t get ripped off they know they won’t be robbed or raped.

(31) They walk out of their houses into the street and are under surveillance, they walk into the public transport system and are being surveilled, they enter a shopping centre and cameras can see them.

(30) and they don’t need firearms in their vehicles in case they are attacked, Their children don’t need to have lessons on how to avoid being shot in a school shooting nor do they receive classes on managing trauma from gunshot wounds. #China

(29) In short, Chinese people have seen their living standards improve, their lifestyles improve, their working environments and their income improve. They have access to all the news they need, they don’t need guns to keep them safe in their own homes

(26) Anyone who is 40 plus now will tell you, when they were children, they couldn’t have even dreamt about owning a car. In many cities throughout China, car ownership has surpassed even their wildest of dreams and luxury cars abound.

(25) Chinese people, of all ethnicities, have watched as their incomes grew faster than inflation. Remembering, anyone who is middle aged has seen poverty and either experienced hunger or been told about it by their parents.

(24) Every single TV show has subtitles: why would a country use subtitles on every single TV show, if it didn’t recognise that many of the people in that country read the language but don’t always speak it well. China has one written language which can be understood by all.

(23) This includes the Uyghurs, who are not in concentration camps, not being persecuted and not being oppressed, at least they weren’t, or there was no evidence that they were. Evidence of this Ethnic encouragement can be seen every day when you look at a TV in China.

(22) The Ethnic Minorities in China are encouraged to explore their heritage, the languages, cultures, traditions and even the clothing styles are encouraged to be passed from generation to generation.

(21) the Communist party, listens, changes course when required and acts on the will of the people I don’t know many democracies which can say this. #China
